About the Role
Our client is seeking a forward-thinking Mine Planner to contribute to their strategic development initiatives, with a base near Cambridge . This role is responsible for developing and optimizing short-term and long-term mine plans to ensure safe, efficient, and economically viable extraction of resources. You will utilize advanced mine planning software to design pit limits, production schedules, and waste disposal strategies. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of mining engineering principles, and the ability to translate geological data into actionable operational plans, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and responsible resource management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain short-term, medium-term, and long-term mine plans.
- Utilize mine planning software to design open pit outlines, haul roads, and production sequencing.
- Optimize mine designs for maximum resource recovery and economic return.
- Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for proposed mining projects.
- Collaborate with operations, geology, and engineering teams to ensure plan feasibility and alignment.
- Ensure all mine plans comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations .
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine planning and design.
- Proficiency with mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, or Micromine.
- Strong understanding of open-pit or underground mining methods and constraints.
- Experience with geostatistical analysis and resource modeling interpretation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to visualize complex spatial data.
