About the Role
Our client is looking for a meticulous Mine Planner and Scheduler to join their operations team near Bristol, South West England, UK . This hybrid role requires a strategic thinker who can develop short-term and long-term mine plans, optimize production sequencing, and ensure efficient resource utilization. You will work closely with operations, geology, and engineering departments to translate geological models into actionable production plans. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to shape the operational output of a key site within the mining sector and contribute to strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed short-term and long-term mine production plans.
- Optimize mine sequencing, scheduling, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Collaborate with geological teams to integrate resource models into production plans.
- Work with engineering to ensure equipment availability and operational feasibility of plans.
- Monitor progress against the plan and provide regular updates and variance analysis.
- Contribute to feasibility studies and life-of-mine planning processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine planning, scheduling, and operations.
- Proficiency in mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac) and scheduling tools.
- Strong understanding of mining methods, geology, and operational constraints.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in a hybrid work environment.
