Our client is seeking a skilled Mine Planning Engineer to join their team in Wolverhampton . This role is crucial for the strategic development and optimization of underground and open-pit mining operations. You will be responsible for creating short-term and long-term mine plans, optimizing resource extraction, and ensuring that production targets are met safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed short-term and long-term mine plans, including production schedules and resource allocation.
- Utilize mine planning software to generate 3D models, optimize pit designs, and design underground mine layouts.
- Conduct geotechnical assessments and integrate them into mine planning processes.
- Monitor mine performance against the plan and make necessary adjustments to optimize production and minimize costs.
- Ensure all mine plans comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with geologists, surveyors, and operations personnel to execute plans effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine planning and design.
- Proficiency with mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, or Surpac.
- Strong understanding of mining methods, geotechnical principles, and operational constraints.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate plans clearly to diverse stakeholders in Wolverhampton .
