Mine Planning Engineer

About the Role

You will be responsible for designing and optimizing mine plans, ensuring safety, productivity, and economic viability. Key Responsibilities

• Develop short-term and long-term mine plans, including production schedules and resource allocation.
• Create detailed mine designs, optimizing layouts for safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance.
• Conduct geotechnical assessments and stability analyses for open-pit and underground operations.
• Utilize mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, MineScape) to generate 3D models and production targets.
• Monitor operational performance against plans, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate with survey, geology, and operations teams to ensure integrated planning and execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine planning, operations, or engineering.
• Proficiency with mine planning and design software, such as Deswik, MineScape, or similar.
• Strong understanding of open-pit and/or underground mining methods and principles.
• Knowledge of mine safety regulations and environmental best practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
