About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Mine Planning Engineer to join their team in Bradford, West Yorkshire, UK . This role is fundamental to the success of our mining operations, involving the development of short-term and long-term mine plans to optimize resource extraction, ensure safety, and achieve production targets. You will utilize advanced mine planning software and collaborate closely with geologists, surveyors, and operations personnel. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a passion for strategic planning in the mining industry .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed short-term and long-term mine plans using specialized software.
- Optimize mine layouts, sequencing, and production schedules for efficiency and safety.
- Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new mining projects and expansions.
- Collaborate with geological and survey teams to ensure accurate data integration into planning models.
- Monitor mine progress against plans and implement adjustments as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all mining regulations and environmental standards in planning documentation.
Requirements
- Degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in mine planning, preferably in underground or open-pit mining .
- Proficiency with mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, or Surpac.
- Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment capabilities, and operational constraints.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret geological and survey data.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities for cross-functional collaboration.
