About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Mine Planning Engineer to join their team at their site in Stoke-on-Trent . This critical role involves developing and optimizing short-term and long-term mine plans to ensure efficient and safe resource extraction. You will work closely with operations, geology, and surveying teams to integrate geological data and operational constraints into workable mine designs. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to the strategic operational success of a key mining facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mine plans, including open-pit or underground designs, considering geological, geotechnical, and economic factors.
• Create production schedules and optimize resource utilization to meet targets.
• Utilize mine planning software to generate designs, simulations, and reports.
• Collaborate with operational teams to ensure plans are feasible and effectively implemented.
• Monitor progress against plans and make adjustments as necessary to optimize outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine planning and design.
• Proficiency with mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, or similar.
• Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment capabilities, and geological principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
