About the Role
Our client is looking for a meticulous and experienced Mine Planning Specialist to join their dedicated team based in Edinburgh . This role is critical for developing short-term and long-term mine plans that maximize resource recovery while adhering to stringent safety and environmental standards. You will work closely with geologists, engineers, and operations personnel to ensure efficient and effective mine production. Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed mine plans, including open-pit or underground designs, blast patterns, and haulage routes.
- Create and update short-term and long-term mine production schedules.
- Perform mine design simulations and feasibility studies using specialized software.
- Collaborate with geologists to integrate geological data into mine planning processes.
- Monitor mine performance against planned targets and identify areas for optimization.
- Ensure all mine plans comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in mine planning and design.
- Proficiency in mine planning software such as Surpac, Deswik, or similar.
- Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment capabilities, and operational constraints.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret geological data and translate it into practical mine plans.
