Mine Planning Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a detailed-oriented Mine Planning Specialist to join their operational team in Oxford . You will be responsible for developing short-term and long-term mine plans, optimizing resource extraction, and ensuring operational efficiency. This role requires a strong technical background in mine design and planning software, working closely with site engineers and geologists to translate geological data into actionable mining plans. You will contribute significantly to the productivity and profitability of the mining operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed short-term and long-term mine plans using specialized software.
• Optimize mine layouts, production sequencing, and equipment utilization.
• Collaborate with geologists to integrate geological models into mine planning.
• Conduct production forecasting and resource estimation reviews.
• Prepare reports on mine plan performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure mine plans comply with safety, environmental, and operational standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine planning and design .
• Proficiency in mine planning software such as Deswik, MinePlan, Vulcan, or similar.
• Strong understanding of open-pit or underground mining methods.
• Knowledge of geotechnical principles and their impact on planning.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
