About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Mine Planning Superintendent to lead their mine planning department near Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK . This senior role is responsible for the development and execution of long-term and short-term mine plans, ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective extraction of mineral resources. You will oversee a team of mine planners and engineers, coordinating closely with operations, geology, and engineering departments to optimize production schedules and resource utilization. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive long-term and short-term mine plans.
• Oversee mine design, scheduling, and resource optimization processes.

• Ensure plans align with geological models, operational capabilities, and economic targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in mine planning and operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Proven expertise in open-pit or underground mine planning and design.
• Proficiency with mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac) and 3D modeling.
• Strong understanding of mining economics, resource estimation, and feasibility studies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
