Mine Operations Superintendent

About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-driven and experienced Mine Operations Superintendent to lead their operational teams in Sheffield . This senior leadership role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of all mining activities, from resource extraction to material handling. You will oversee daily operations, manage a large workforce, and ensure adherence to production targets, safety standards, and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a deep understanding of mining processes and a proven ability to motivate teams and drive performance improvements. This is a critical role for the ongoing success and productivity of the mining site.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all day-to-day underground mining operations , including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling.
• Ensure the implementation and enforcement of all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Develop and manage operational budgets, focusing on cost control and efficiency improvements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of mine supervisors, operators, and maintenance personnel.
• Collaborate with planning, engineering, and maintenance departments to optimize production and resource utilization.
• Monitor operational performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mine operations management , with significant underground experience.
• Proven track record of managing large teams and achieving production targets in a safe and efficient manner.
• Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment, and operational best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Experience with mine planning software and operational reporting systems.
