About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and knowledgeable Mine Safety Inspector to join their expanding compliance division. Operating remotely, you will be responsible for assessing and ensuring adherence to rigorous health and safety regulations across various mining operations. This role requires a deep understanding of mining hazards, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies. You will conduct virtual audits, review safety documentation, and provide expert guidance to site management to foster a robust safety culture. The position is ideal for a safety professional who can effectively monitor and enforce standards in a dispersed operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct remote safety audits and inspections of mining operations to identify potential hazards and compliance issues.
• Review mine safety plans, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness procedures.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training materials and guidance to site personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and local mining safety legislation and standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in mining safety management or inspection.
• In-depth knowledge of mining processes, equipment, and associated safety risks.
• Experience with virtual inspection tools and techniques is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
