About the Role
Our client is looking for a vigilant Mine Safety Inspector to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire . In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all mining operations adhere to the strictest health and safety standards, safeguarding the well-being of all personnel. Your expertise will be vital in identifying potential hazards, enforcing safety regulations, and promoting a robust safety culture across all site activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of all mining operations , equipment, and facilities.
- Identify safety hazards, unsafe practices, and potential risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all national and local health and safety legislation and company policies.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to all employees and contractors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, documenting findings and implementing preventive measures.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, training, and safety performance metrics.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Safety Inspector or HSE Officer, preferably within the mining industry.
- In-depth knowledge of UK mining health and safety regulations (e.g., MHSWR).
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH National General Certificate or Diploma).
- Strong understanding of risk assessment techniques and hazard identification methodologies.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for training and enforcement.
