About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant and knowledgeable Mine Safety Inspector to contribute to their operations near Cambridge . This role is paramount in ensuring the health and safety of all personnel working in and around the mining sites. You will conduct regular inspections, identify potential hazards, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mine safety procedures and a keen eye for detail, dedicated to fostering a culture of safety across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of mine sites, equipment, and procedures.
• Identify unsafe conditions and practices, and recommend corrective actions to management.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and follow-up actions.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation relevant to the mining industry in the UK.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees and contractors.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement and communication.

Requirements

• Experience (5+ years) in mine safety or a related occupational health and safety role within the mining sector.
• In-depth knowledge of mining hazards and control measures, both surface and underground.
• Relevant safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
• Strong understanding of relevant UK health and safety legislation.
• Excellent observational, analytical, and reporting skills.
• Effective communication and training abilities.
