About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and precise Mine Surveyor to join their operations team in Birmingham . This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate measurement and mapping of underground and surface mine workings, contributing to safe and efficient extraction processes. You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and techniques to monitor ground movement, establish survey control, and provide essential data for mine planning and production. The successful candidate will work closely with mine management, engineers, and geologists, playing a key role in maintaining the integrity and productivity of mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct precise underground and surface surveys using total stations, GPS, and laser scanning technology.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks within the mine environment.
• Produce accurate mine plans, sections, and 3D models for production and planning purposes.
• Monitor and report on ground stability, subsidence, and other geological changes.
• Calculate volumes for ore, waste, and backfill material.
• Ensure all survey data is accurately recorded, processed, and stored according to company standards.

Requirements

• HND or Foundation Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably in underground mining.
• Proficiency with industry-standard surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, Deswik, Surpac).
• Experience with 3D laser scanning and drone surveying is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of mine surveying principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data recording and calculation.
