About the Role
Our client is looking for a meticulous and qualified Mine Surveyor to join their team in Portsmouth . This role is fundamental to ensuring accurate mapping, measurement, and control of mining operations, both underground and surface. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining survey control networks, monitoring mine development, and providing essential data for mine planning and production. Your expertise will directly contribute to the safety and efficiency of our mining activities, ensuring that operations are conducted within precise parameters and in compliance with all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain survey control networks using total stations, GPS, and other surveying equipment.
- Conduct daily surveys of mine workings, excavations, and surface infrastructure.
- Monitor and record changes in mine geometry, volumes, and subsidence.
- Prepare accurate survey plans, cross-sections, and reports for mine management and planning engineers.
- Ensure all survey data is accurate, properly documented, and adheres to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with mine engineers, geologists, and production personnel to provide timely survey support.
Requirements
- Qualification in Mine Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, with experience in both underground and surface mining environments.
- Proficiency with modern surveying instruments and software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, Surpac).
- Strong understanding of geological and mining principles related to surveying.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
