About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Mine Surveyor to join their operational team in Portsmouth . This role is essential for accurately mapping underground and surface mining sites, ensuring precise control over excavation and construction. You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and techniques to gather data, create detailed plans, and monitor progress against engineering designs. This is a hands-on position offering the chance to work on vital infrastructure projects within the UK mining and construction sectors, contributing to the safe and efficient development of mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct precise surveys of underground and surface mine workings using total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks for mining operations.
• Prepare detailed survey plans, cross-sections, and volumetric calculations.
• Monitor and record mine development progress and compare against design plans.
• Assist engineers and geologists with data for mine planning and stability analysis.
• Ensure all survey data is accurate, well-documented, and stored properly.

Requirements

• Qualified Mine Surveyor or relevant surveying qualification (e.g., HND/BSc in Surveying/Geomatics).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mine surveying or related civil engineering surveying.
• Proficiency with surveying instruments and data processing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center).
• Experience with underground surveying techniques and safety protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and geological maps.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
