About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Mine Surveyor to join their team near Oxford , Oxfordshire . This role is essential for accurately measuring and mapping underground and surface mining sites, ensuring that operations adhere to design plans and regulatory requirements. You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and techniques to provide critical data for mine planning, production, and safety. This is a site-based position requiring regular fieldwork in varied mining conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct precise surveys of mine workings, including underground development, stopes, and surface infrastructure.
• Prepare and update mine plans, sections, and volumetric calculations using surveying data.
• Utilize total stations, GPS, laser scanners, and other surveying equipment for data acquisition.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all survey data collected.
• Collaborate with mine engineers and geologists to provide survey support for planning and production.
• Monitor ground movement and report any significant changes impacting mine stability.

Requirements

• Qualified Mine Surveyor or relevant degree/diploma in Surveying or Geomatics.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine surveying, with exposure to both underground and surface operations.
• Proficiency with surveying software and CAD packages (e.g., AutoCAD, Deswik CAD).
• Experience with various surveying instruments and data processing techniques.
• Strong understanding of mining methods and terminology.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately in challenging environments.
