About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and skilled Mine Surveyor to join their operation in Belfast, Northern Ireland . You will be responsible for accurate measurement and mapping of mine sites, underground workings, and surface features, ensuring precise data collection for planning, production, and safety. This role requires a keen eye for detail, proficiency with advanced surveying equipment and software, and the ability to work effectively in challenging and dynamic mining environments. As a crucial member of the site team, you will contribute directly to the operational efficiency and structural integrity of the mine by providing reliable and precise spatial data.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting surface and underground surveys to establish control points and boundaries.
• Measuring and mapping mine workings, stockpiles, and infrastructure using total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Maintaining accurate survey records, plans, and digital models of the mine.
• Calculating volumes, ore tonnages, and progress of excavation.
• Ensuring that all survey work complies with regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Collaborating with engineers and geologists to provide necessary spatial data for planning and operations.

Requirements

• Qualified Mine Surveyor or HNC/HND in Surveying, Mining Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably with underground mining experience.
• Proficiency in using surveying instruments (total stations, theodolites, GPS receivers) and associated software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, specialised mining software).
• Strong understanding of geodetic principles and mine surveying practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data recording and reporting.
• Ability to work effectively in challenging site conditions and as part of a team.
