About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous Mine Surveyor to join their team near Derby . This role is essential for accurately mapping and measuring underground and surface mining operations, ensuring precise data for planning, production, and regulatory compliance. You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and techniques to provide critical spatial information. This is a hands-on, site-based position requiring regular presence within the operational areas of the mining sector .

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct precise surveys of underground and surface mine workings, including boundaries, excavations, and infrastructure.
• Prepare and maintain accurate mine plans, cross-sections, and contour maps using CAD software.
• Monitor and report on mine progress, volumes, and reconciliation against design plans.
• Ensure all surveying activities comply with industry standards and legal requirements for mine surveying.
• Operate and maintain sophisticated surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Collaborate with mine engineers, geologists, and production staff to provide necessary spatial data.

Requirements

• HNC/HND or degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably within the mining industry .
• Proficiency with surveying instruments and associated data processing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Carlson Survey).
• Strong understanding of mine surveying principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and effectively on a mine site.
