About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Mine Surveyor to join their operational team in Glasgow . This position is essential for accurately mapping and measuring the mine site, ensuring that operations are conducted within designated boundaries and that all production volumes are precisely recorded. You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and techniques to provide critical spatial data for planning, development, and production activities. Working on-site, you will contribute directly to the operational efficiency and accuracy of resource extraction, supporting the mine's geological and engineering functions in a key Scottish industrial hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct topographic surveys of mine sites, including open pits and underground workings.
- Set out and monitor boundaries, excavation lines, and structural alignments.
- Measure and record ore and waste volumes for production and inventory purposes.
- Process survey data using specialized software to create maps, cross-sections, and 3D models.
- Calibrate and maintain survey equipment, ensuring accuracy and functionality.
- Collaborate with engineers and geologists to provide necessary spatial data for design and planning.
Requirements
- HND or Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a mine surveyor, preferably in open-pit mining .
- Proficiency with total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and laser scanners.
- Experience with surveying software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or specialized mining survey packages.
- Strong understanding of coordinate systems and geodetic principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
