About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and meticulous Mine Surveyor to join their operations team in Edinburgh . This role is crucial for accurately mapping and controlling mine development, ensuring adherence to design plans and maintaining safe working conditions. You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and techniques to provide precise measurements and data for underground and surface mining activities. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, experienced in modern surveying technologies, and capable of working effectively in challenging mining environments .

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed surveys for mine development, excavation, and construction activities.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks, both underground and surface.
• Use total stations, GPS, laser scanners, and other surveying equipment accurately.
• Prepare survey plans, cross-sections, and volumetric calculations.
• Monitor and record changes in mine workings and report any discrepancies.
• Ensure all survey data is accurate, well-documented, and readily available to project teams.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably in underground operations.
• Proficiency with surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, Surpac, Deswik).
• Experience with total stations, digital levels, and GPS/GNSS systems.
• Strong understanding of mining geometry and measurement principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills for fieldwork near Edinburgh .
