About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Mine Surveyor to join their team in Reading . This role is crucial for accurately mapping and monitoring the underground and surface workings of mining operations. You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and techniques to establish control, measure volumes, and ensure the spatial integrity of mine plans. The ideal candidate is meticulous, technically proficient, and committed to providing precise spatial data that supports safe and efficient mining operations in the UK .

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct precise underground and surface surveys using total stations, GPS, and laser scanning equipment.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks for mining operations.
• Measure and report on volumes of ore extracted, waste moved, and stockpile inventories.
• Prepare survey plans, cross-sections, and contour maps using CAD software.
• Ensure all survey work complies with regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Collaborate closely with mine engineers, geologists, and production personnel to provide essential spatial data.

Requirements

• Qualified Mine Surveyor or experienced Survey Technician.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mine surveying or related underground surveying.
• Proficiency with modern surveying instruments and data processing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Carlson).
• Strong understanding of geodetic principles and coordinate systems.
• Experience in volume calculations and reporting.
• Ability to work effectively in challenging underground environments and adhere to strict safety protocols.
