About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and meticulous Mine Surveyor to support their operations in the Portsmouth area. This role is essential for accurately mapping underground and surface mine workings, ensuring precise dimensional control for extraction and construction, and maintaining survey records. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct underground and surface surveys to establish control networks and map mine excavations.
• Use Total Stations, GPS, laser scanners, and other surveying equipment for accurate data capture.
• Process survey data using specialized software (e.g., AutoCAD, Surpac) to create plans, sections, and models.
• Monitor and report on mine deformation, subsidence, and ground movement.
• Ensure survey records are maintained accurately and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with mine engineers and geologists to provide essential spatial information for planning and operations.

Requirements

• A qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor or in a similar surveying role within the mining industry.
• Proficiency with modern surveying instruments and software commonly used in mining.
• Knowledge of mine surveying principles, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a site-based team.
