Mine Surveyor

About the Role

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Mine Surveyor to join their operations near Brighton . This role is essential for accurately mapping and measuring the mine environment, ensuring that excavation and development work progresses according to plan. You will be responsible for collecting precise survey data both underground and on the surface, maintaining survey records, and providing vital information to the engineering and mining teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of surveying principles and experience with modern surveying technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct topographic and underground mine surveys using advanced equipment such as total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Create and update detailed maps, plans, and models of mine workings, ore bodies, and surface infrastructure.
• Perform volumetric calculations for reserves, excavations, and stockpiles.
• Set out points for mining operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design plans.
• Maintain survey equipment and ensure calibration is up to date.
• Collaborate with geologists and engineers to provide accurate spatial data for mine planning and production.

Requirements

• Qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in land surveying , with specific experience in a mining or construction environment.
• Proficiency with surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, specialised mining software).
• Experience with 3D laser scanning and drone surveying technologies is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and recording.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
