About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous Mine Surveyor to join their operational team based in Derby, Derbyshire, UK . This role is critical for accurately mapping and monitoring the underground and surface workings of the mine, ensuring precise data for planning and safety. You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and techniques to measure volumes, track excavation progress, and maintain as-built records. This is a hands-on role for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in challenging environments and is dedicated to providing accurate spatial data that underpins safe and efficient mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct topographic and volumetric surveys of mine sites, both underground and surface.
• Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Prepare detailed survey plans, cross-sections, and contour maps.
• Track and record excavation progress and changes in mine geometry.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of all survey data collected.
• Liaise with mine planners and engineers to provide necessary spatial information for project execution.
• Adhere to all site safety procedures and regulations.

Requirements

• HND or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mine surveying or related field surveying.
• Proficiency with surveying instruments and data processing software (e.g., AutoCAD, LISCAD).
• Strong understanding of geodetic principles and coordinate systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively in demanding field conditions.
