About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified Mine Surveyor to join their operations near Derby, Derbyshire . This hybrid role involves providing essential surveying services for both underground and surface mining activities, ensuring accurate spatial data for planning, excavation, and resource management. You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and techniques to map mine workings, monitor ground movement, and verify compliance with design specifications. This position is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency and safety within the mining industry , offering a blend of site-based fieldwork and office-based data processing and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct topographic and underground surveys using total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks within the mine.
• Prepare detailed survey plans, cross-sections, and volumetric calculations.
• Monitor ground stability and report any significant movements or changes.
• Ensure all survey data is accurate, logged correctly, and stored securely.
• Collaborate with geologists and engineers to provide spatial data for project planning and execution.

Requirements

• HNC/HND or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a surveyor, with specific experience in mining or civil engineering projects.
• Proficiency with modern surveying instruments and associated software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
• Strong understanding of spatial data management and coordinate systems.
• Ability to work effectively in challenging and potentially hazardous site conditions.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
