About the Role

Our client seeks an experienced Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their team, supporting operations near Bristol . This critical role ensures that underground mines maintain safe and healthy working environments by managing air quality, temperature, and pressure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring ventilation systems, collaborating closely with mine planning and safety departments. Key Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and manage underground mine ventilation systems to ensure adequate airflow, temperature control, and contaminant dilution.
• Conduct ventilation surveys and airflow measurements using specialized equipment.
• Perform air quality monitoring and assess exposure risks to hazardous gases and dust.
• Develop and implement strategies for dust control, fume extraction, and overall mine atmosphere management.
• Collaborate with mine planning and production teams to integrate ventilation requirements into mine design and operations.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to mine ventilation.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering, specifically in underground mining.
• Strong understanding of aerodynamics , thermodynamics, and gas diffusion principles.
• Proficiency in ventilation modeling software (e.g., VENTSIM, MineCalc).
• Experience with ventilation network analysis and optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
