About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their team, contributing to safe and efficient underground mining operations near Bristol . This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and managing mine ventilation systems that ensure optimal air quality, temperature, and pressure conditions for personnel and equipment. You will conduct regular assessments, perform simulations, and develop strategies to maintain safe working environments, especially in challenging geological conditions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics as applied to underground mine environments. Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, and maintain effective underground mine ventilation systems .
• Conduct surveys and measurements of airflow, temperature, humidity, and air quality.
• Utilize computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling software to simulate and optimize ventilation networks.
• Develop and implement strategies for dust and gas control.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations pertaining to mine ventilation.
• Provide technical guidance and training to site personnel on ventilation best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in ventilation.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering , preferably in underground mining.
• Proficiency with mine ventilation simulation software (e.g., Ventsim, VentGraph).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, psychrometrics, and fluid mechanics.
• Experience with dust suppression techniques and gas monitoring.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to safety.
