About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their operations team based in Nottingham . This role is essential for ensuring a safe and productive working environment by managing the mine's ventilation systems. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring ventilation networks to control air quality, temperature, and dust levels. This position requires a strong understanding of mine environments and air movement principles, offering a stable career path within a leading mining organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize mine ventilation systems to meet air quality and safety standards.
• Conduct airflow surveys, dust sampling, and gas monitoring within the mine.
• Specify and select ventilation equipment, including fans, ducts, and controls.
• Troubleshoot ventilation issues and implement effective solutions to maintain optimal conditions.
• Develop ventilation plans and strategies in collaboration with mine planning and safety departments.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations pertaining to mine ventilation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering, preferably in underground mining.
• Strong knowledge of aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and air quality control in mining environments.
• Proficiency with ventilation modeling software (e.g., Ventsim, Mine 2-4A).
• Experience with fan performance testing and system balancing.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
