About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their team based near Norwich, Norfolk . This role is essential for ensuring the safety and health of personnel by designing, implementing, and monitoring effective mine ventilation systems. You will be responsible for managing airflow, temperature, humidity, and dust control within underground mining environments. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of ventilation principles, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and relevant regulatory standards for the mining industry . This position offers the chance to work on critical safety aspects of mining projects from our Norwich location.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize mine ventilation systems to ensure adequate airflow and environmental control.
• Conduct ventilation surveys and air quality monitoring to assess conditions and compliance.
• Develop strategies for controlling dust, gases, and temperature within underground mines.
• Utilize specialized software for ventilation network analysis and CFD modeling.
• Collaborate with mine planning and operations teams to integrate ventilation requirements into mine design.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to mine ventilation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering, preferably within the mining sector .
• Strong knowledge of ventilation principles, thermodynamics, and psychrometrics.
• Proficiency with mine ventilation software (e.g., Ventsim, Ventsim+) and CFD tools.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations pertaining to underground mining environments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
