About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Mine Ventilation Engineer to join their operational team in Norwich, Norfolk . This role is critical for ensuring safe and efficient underground working conditions by designing, implementing, and monitoring ventilation systems. You will analyze air quality, temperature, and pressure dynamics within the mine to develop strategies that maintain a healthy and productive environment for all personnel. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of airflow dynamics and the ability to apply engineering principles to complex ventilation challenges in a demanding mining setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize underground ventilation systems to ensure adequate airflow and air quality.
• Conduct airflow surveys and analysis, using specialized instruments and software.
• Monitor and report on environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, dust, and gas levels.
• Develop and manage ventilation plans in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with mine planning and operations teams to integrate ventilation requirements into mine design.
• Troubleshoot ventilation issues and implement effective solutions to maintain optimal conditions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on ventilation.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering .
• Proficiency with mine ventilation simulation software (e.g., Ventsim, Mut)**.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mine environmental control.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations pertaining to mine air quality.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
