About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mineral Processing Engineer to optimize the recovery of valuable minerals from extracted ore at their facility in Oxford . This role is central to maximizing the economic value of mined materials through efficient and effective processing techniques. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting various processing circuits, including comminution, flotation, and gravity separation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mineralogy, process chemistry, and equipment performance, coupled with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Key Responsibilities
- Design, operate, and optimize mineral processing circuits to achieve target recovery rates and product quality.
- Conduct pilot plant and plant-scale test work to evaluate new processing technologies and improve existing operations.
- Analyze process data, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Ensure that all processing operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations .
- Collaborate with geologists and metallurgists to understand ore characteristics and optimize treatment strategies.
- Prepare technical reports, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications.
Requirements
- Degree in Mineral Processing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Metallurgy.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in mineral processing operations or design, preferably within the mining industry .
- Strong knowledge of comminution, flotation, magnetic separation, and other mineral concentration techniques.
- Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, HSC Chemistry) is advantageous.
- Understanding of mineralogy and its impact on processing behaviour.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
