About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mining Engineer specializing in Planning to join their strategic team near Reading . This role is pivotal in developing long-term and short-term mine plans that optimize resource recovery while ensuring operational efficiency and safety. You will work closely with geologists, surveyors, and operations managers to translate geological data and economic targets into actionable mine designs, contributing significantly to the successful and sustainable extraction of resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed mine plans , including production schedules, resource extraction strategies, and infrastructure layouts.
- Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new mining projects or expansions.
- Optimize mine design and operations for maximum resource recovery and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with geologists and surveyors to ensure accurate geological and survey data integration.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and mining regulations.
- Prepare technical reports and present mine plans to management and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine planning and design.
- Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment, and operational principles.
- Proficiency with mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Datamine).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities for team collaboration.
