Modern Languages Teacher (French & Spanish)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Modern Languages Teacher to join a vibrant faculty at a secondary school in Glasgow . You will be responsible for teaching both French and Spanish to students across various age groups and abilities, fostering a love for languages and developing their communication skills. This role is essential for broadening students' cultural horizons and equipping them with valuable skills for future academic and career paths. The successful candidate will become part of a supportive and dynamic department committed to delivering an outstanding language education and encouraging international understanding among students.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in French and Spanish for secondary students.
• Develop students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in target languages.
• Create an immersive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation and cultural appreciation.
• Assess student progress through regular assignments, tests, and oral assessments, providing constructive feedback.
• Contribute to the development of the Modern Languages department's curriculum and resources.
• Promote an understanding and interest in different cultures associated with the languages taught.

Requirements

• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGDE) with registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS).
• Fluency or near-fluency in both French and Spanish.
• Experience teaching modern languages at the secondary level.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students to engage with language learning.
