About the Role

Our client is seeking a customer-focused and knowledgeable Mortgage Advisor to join their expanding branch in Edinburgh . You will guide clients through the mortgage application process, providing expert advice on a range of mortgage products to meet their individual needs and financial goals. This role requires building strong client relationships, understanding complex financial situations, and ensuring a smooth and compliant journey from application to completion. You'll be a key player in helping individuals and families achieve their homeownership dreams within Scotland's vibrant capital.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess client financial situations, income, and expenditure to recommend suitable mortgage products.
• Advise clients on the various mortgage options available, including fixed-rate, variable-rate, and specialist loans.
• Assist clients in completing mortgage applications accurately and efficiently, gathering all necessary documentation.
• Liaise with lenders, solicitors, and other third parties to ensure the timely progression of mortgage applications.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the mortgage market, lending criteria, and regulatory changes.
• Build and nurture a strong client base through excellent service and professional referrals in the Edinburgh area.

Requirements

• Relevant industry qualification, such as the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP ).
• Proven experience as a Mortgage Advisor or in a similar financial advisory role.
• Excellent understanding of mortgage products, underwriting processes, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FCA ).
• Strong sales and customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust.
• Proficiency in using mortgage sourcing software and CRM systems.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
