Multi Skilled Engineer

Location: Corby Salary: 55-60k Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our busy food manufacturing operation.

The successful candidate will have a strong engineering background, with experience in food production machinery, industrial refrigeration, and general maintenance. You will play a key role in ensuring that production equipment, machinery and refrigeration systems operate safely, efficiently and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on production machinery.

• Maintain and troubleshoot industrial refrigeration systems.

• Support the operation and maintenance of cooling systems, chillers and associated equipment.

• Minimise machinery downtime and improve production efficiency.

• Carry out fault finding and repairs on conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes and processing equipment.

• Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety, food safety and hygiene standards.

• Complete maintenance records and report any ongoing issues.

• Work closely with production teams to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within the food manufacturing industry.

• Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills.

• Experience with industrial refrigeration and cooling systems.

• Good fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.

• Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems.

• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications.

• Refrigeration engineering qualifications.

• F-Gas certification (where applicable).

• Experience with ammonia or CO₂ refrigeration systems.

• PLC and control system knowledge.
