About the Role
Our client is seeking a results-oriented National Account Manager to join their dynamic sales team, focusing on key accounts within the FMCG sector based in or near Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is critical for nurturing and expanding relationships with major retailers and distributors, driving sales growth, and ensuring excellent service delivery. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic account plans, managing commercial negotiations, and acting as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of high-value clients. This position offers a blend of in-office and remote work, providing flexibility while ensuring strong client engagement and collaboration within the commercial team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve and exceed sales targets for key national accounts within the FMCG market .
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with senior stakeholders at major retail and wholesale partners.
- Conduct commercial negotiations on pricing, promotions, and terms of business to secure profitable growth.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer performance to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, supply chain, finance) to ensure seamless execution of account strategies and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Present business reviews and performance updates to both internal leadership and external partners.
Requirements
- Proven track record of success in a National Account Manager role within the FMCG industry .
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and experience managing complex customer relationships.
- Excellent understanding of the retail and grocery landscape in the UK market .
- Proficiency in sales forecasting, CRM systems, and data analysis tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
