About the Role
Our client seeks an ambitious and results-oriented National Account Manager to join their expanding FMCG team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is critical for nurturing and growing key relationships with major retail partners across the nation. You will be responsible for developing strategic account plans, driving sales growth, and ensuring excellent service delivery. This hybrid position offers a balance of remote work flexibility and in-person collaboration, allowing you to manage your client portfolio effectively while engaging with your regional sales team and headquarters. You will play a vital part in the continued success and expansion of our client's market presence within the fast-paced UK FMCG landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve and exceed sales targets for assigned national accounts.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders at major retail and wholesale customers.
- Negotiate trading terms, promotions, and new product listings to maximize brand visibility and sales volume.
- Analyse sales data, market trends, and customer performance to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, supply chain, finance) to ensure seamless execution of account strategies and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to prospective and existing clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in national account management, preferably within the FMCG sector .
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and managing large, complex customer accounts.
- Strong negotiation, commercial acumen, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing remote work with necessary in-office or client-site travel in and around Newcastle upon Tyne .
