About the Role
Our client seeks a highly motivated and results-oriented National Sales Manager to drive sales performance across the UK for their expanding FMCG portfolio. Based in Coventry , you will be responsible for leading a national sales team, developing effective sales strategies, and achieving ambitious revenue targets. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the FMCG market and a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key retailers and distributors. You will play a critical part in shaping the sales future of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive national sales strategies to achieve company revenue and profit goals.
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of regional sales representatives to maximize their performance.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key national accounts and distribution partners.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
- Prepare and present regular sales forecasts, performance reports, and strategic plans to senior management.
- Collaborate with marketing to ensure sales and marketing initiatives are aligned and supportive of brand objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- Significant experience (8+ years) in sales leadership roles within the FMCG sector, with a proven track record of exceeding targets.
- Demonstrated success in managing and developing national sales teams.
- Strong understanding of sales processes, channel management, and key account management.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the UK to support the sales team and meet clients in various locations including Coventry .
