Network Operations Centre (NOC) Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and skilled Network Operations Centre (NOC) Analyst to join their dedicated team, operating on a fully remote basis, supporting infrastructure in the Nottingham area and beyond. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for monitoring the health and performance of our client's telecommunications network, identifying and responding to incidents in real-time to ensure maximum uptime and service quality. You will be at the forefront of network stability, working within a dynamic and responsive 24/7 environment, contributing to the seamless operation of vital communication services from your home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance, availability, and security using advanced NOC tools and dashboards.
• Detect, diagnose, and respond to network alerts and incidents according to established procedures.
• Perform initial troubleshooting of network faults and escalate issues to relevant engineering teams when necessary.
• Document all network events, actions taken, and resolutions accurately in the ticketing system.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, management, and sometimes external stakeholders during incident resolution.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of NOC processes and procedures.

Requirements

• Experience working in a Network Operations Centre (NOC) or similar IT support role.
• Familiarity with network monitoring concepts and tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing protocols, and common network devices.
• Ability to work shifts in a 24/7 environment (if applicable) or during specified hours.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
