Network Operations Centre (NOC) Analyst

About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant and proactive Network Operations Centre (NOC) Analyst to join their team based in Cardiff . In this critical role, you will be responsible for the real-time monitoring and management of their telecommunications network infrastructure, ensuring its optimal performance and availability. You will act as the first line of defence against network disruptions, identifying, escalating, and assisting in the resolution of incidents. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for network stability within the fast-paced telecoms industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability using sophisticated NOC tools and systems.
• Respond to network alarms and alerts, performing initial diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify root causes.
• Escalate critical incidents to relevant engineering teams and provide timely updates on resolution progress.
• Document all network events, actions taken, and resolutions in the incident management system.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of NOC procedures and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Experience working in a Network Operations Centre or similar monitoring environment.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) and ticketing systems.
• Basic understanding of telecommunications network concepts, including IP networking and common protocols.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective incident reporting and escalation.
