Nursery Practitioner - Early Years Education

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join their vibrant early years setting in Aberdeen . You will play a crucial role in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their development across all key learning areas. This position offers the opportunity to work with a supportive team that is passionate about delivering high-quality childcare and education, contributing to the foundational learning experiences of children aged 0-5.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children's learning and development in line with the Curriculum for Excellence.
• Observe, assess, and record children's progress, maintaining detailed learning journals for each child.
• Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all children under your care at all times.
• Build positive and collaborative relationships with parents and families, communicating regularly about their child's progress and development.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high-quality approach to childcare.

Requirements

• SVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education or equivalent qualification.
• Experience working with children aged 0-5 in a nursery or childcare setting.
• A strong understanding of child development theories and early years frameworks, such as Curriculum for Excellence .
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with both children and adults.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Knowledge of child protection policies and procedures.
