Nursery Practitioner (Full-Time)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and qualified Nursery Practitioner to join their established childcare centre in Portsmouth . This role is fundamental to providing exceptional care and education for children aged 0-5 years, ensuring a stimulating and safe environment that promotes development. You will work closely with a team of professionals to deliver a high-quality curriculum, engage children in learning through play, and build strong relationships with families. We are looking for a motivated individual passionate about early years education, who can contribute positively to the nursery's ethos and standards, fostering a nurturing and fun atmosphere for all children.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences and activities for children, following the EYFS curriculum.
• Observe, assess, and document children's progress and development, maintaining accurate records and portfolios.
• Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all children, adhering strictly to safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Build and maintain positive, supportive relationships with parents and guardians, sharing updates on their child's learning and development.
• Create and maintain a stimulating, safe, and well-organised learning environment, ensuring resources are accessible and appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to childcare and consistent quality of provision across the nursery.

Requirements

• A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, such as NNEB, NVQ, or Cache.
• Proven experience working with children in an early years setting.
• Solid understanding of the EYFS framework, child development stages, and safeguarding best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and genuine passion for childcare.
