Nursery Practitioner - SEN Support

About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Nursery Practitioner with a specialization in Special Educational Needs (SEN) support to join their dedicated team in Oxford . In this vital role, you will work closely with children who have diverse learning needs, providing tailored support to ensure they thrive within the nursery environment. You will collaborate with parents, external agencies, and the nursery team to create inclusive learning experiences and developmental plans. Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to children with SEN, implementing individual education and care plans (IEPs/ICs).
• Work collaboratively with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other team members to deliver inclusive practice.
• Assist children in accessing all areas of the nursery curriculum, adapting activities and resources as needed.
• Observe, monitor, and document children's progress, focusing on their development and achievements.
• Communicate effectively and sensitively with parents/carers regarding their child's progress and needs.
• Ensure a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment for all children, adhering to health, safety, and safeguarding policies.

Requirements

• A minimum Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare and Education or a related field.
• Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an early years setting.
• A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and inclusive practice principles.
• Knowledge of different types of SEN and relevant support strategies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and observational skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support children's development.
