Offshore Wind Energy Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Offshore Wind Energy Specialist to join their growing team in Glasgow . This role focuses on the technical and strategic aspects of developing and operating offshore wind farms. You will be involved in analyzing site data, assessing technology options, and contributing to the planning and execution of large-scale offshore wind projects. Your expertise will be vital in maximizing energy production and ensuring the long-term viability and efficiency of these critical renewable assets, supporting Scotland's leadership in green energy development within a collaborative and innovative company culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze environmental, meteorological, and oceanographic data for offshore wind farm site assessment.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate wind turbine technologies and foundation designs for offshore environments.
• Contribute to the development of project execution plans, including installation, commissioning, and O&M strategies.
• Perform technical reviews of designs and equipment specifications from suppliers and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with offshore safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with marine operations, engineering, and commercial teams to deliver successful projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in the offshore wind industry or a closely related marine/energy sector.
• Strong understanding of offshore wind farm components, including turbines, foundations, substations, and subsea cables.
• Experience with project development, technical due diligence, or asset management in the offshore sector.
• Familiarity with relevant software for site assessment and performance analysis.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
