About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Offshore Wind Project Developer to join their expanding team in Sheffield . This vital role will focus on identifying, evaluating, and securing new opportunities for offshore wind farm development across the UK. You will be responsible for managing the early-stage development process, including site assessment, stakeholder engagement, securing consents, and initial financial evaluations. Key Responsibilities

• Identify and assess potential sites for new offshore wind projects, considering technical, environmental, and commercial factors.
• Lead the development process, including early-stage feasibility studies, site investigations, and environmental impact assessments.
• Engage with key stakeholders, including government bodies, regulatory agencies, local communities, and potential supply chain partners.
• Manage the consenting process, ensuring all necessary permits and approvals are obtained.
• Develop business cases and preliminary financial models to support project investment decisions.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, legal, and finance teams throughout the project development lifecycle.
• Stay current with market trends, policy developments, and technological advancements in the offshore wind industry .

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Planning, Business, or a related field.
• Significant experience (7+ years) in project development, preferably within the renewable energy sector , with a strong focus on offshore wind.
• Proven track record in securing consents and managing stakeholder relationships for large infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of the offshore wind project lifecycle, key technologies, and market dynamics.
• Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and strategic thinking abilities.
