Offshore Wind Turbine Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Offshore Wind Turbine Technician to join their operational team serving the wind farms near Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, UK . This hands-on role involves performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on state-of-the-art wind turbines situated in challenging offshore environments. You will be part of a critical team ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of renewable energy assets, contributing directly to the UK's clean energy targets. The position demands physical fitness, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a demanding, team-oriented setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic tests on offshore wind turbines and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
• Ensure all work is carried out in strict adherence to health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Document maintenance activities, repair logs, and component replacements accurately using digital systems.
• Collaborate with site managers and engineering teams to report on turbine status and recommend necessary actions.
• Participate in emergency response procedures and assist in major component exchanges when required.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience working as a technician, preferably within the wind energy or heavy industrial sector.
• GWO Basic Safety Training certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively at heights and in challenging weather conditions.
• Valid driving license and ability to pass offshore medical examinations.
