Offshore Wind Turbine Technician

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Offshore Wind Turbine Technician to join their expanding operations team based near Sunderland . This hands-on role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of state-of-the-art wind turbines situated offshore. You will be essential in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our renewable energy assets, working as part of a dedicated team in a challenging yet rewarding environment, contributing directly to the UK's clean energy targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wind turbine components , including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance tasks according to strict procedures.
• Diagnose and repair faults to minimize downtime and maximize energy generation.
• Ensure all work is carried out in strict compliance with health and safety regulations , including working at height and in confined spaces.
• Operate and maintain specialized tools and equipment required for turbine servicing.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new wind turbines and associated equipment.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline.
• Experience working as a wind turbine technician, preferably in an offshore environment .
• Valid GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Good physical fitness and comfort working at height in challenging weather conditions.
