Offshore Wind Turbine Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Offshore Wind Turbine Technician to join their operational team based near Belfast . In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of wind turbines at sea, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency. You will work as part of a highly skilled team, adhering to stringent safety protocols in a challenging offshore environment. This is a critical position contributing to the growth of renewable energy in Northern Ireland and the wider UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and preventive servicing of wind turbine components (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic).
• Diagnose and repair faults, ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime.
• Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning checks on new turbine installations.
• Safely operate and maintain equipment and vehicles used for offshore operations.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including working at height .
• Complete accurate and timely reports on all maintenance and repair activities.

Requirements

• Recognized technical qualification (e.g., NVQ, HNC) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Previous experience working with heavy machinery or complex electromechanical systems.
• Certification for working at height and GWO Basic Safety Training (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems , with troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently in an offshore environment.
