Offshore Wind Turbine Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Offshore Wind Turbine Technician to join their expanding renewable energy operations in the Coventry area, with deployment to offshore sites. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of wind turbines, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met. This role is critical to the company's commitment to sustainable energy generation and requires individuals who are comfortable working in challenging offshore environments. You will join a team of experts focused on maintaining the integrity and efficiency of a vital renewable energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective repairs on wind turbine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot turbine faults, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Safely operate specialized tools and equipment required for turbine maintenance and repair.
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Document all maintenance activities, service reports, and findings accurately.
• Participate in on-call rotations to address urgent turbine issues and ensure minimal downtime.

Requirements

• Relevant technical qualification (e.g., NVQ, HNC) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Engineering discipline.
• Proven experience as a wind turbine technician or in a similar mechanical/electrical maintenance role.
• Experience working with high-voltage systems and industrial machinery.
• Ability to work safely and effectively at height and in demanding offshore conditions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Valid GWO Basic Safety Training certification (or willingness to obtain).
